The United Progressive Party (UPP) is doubling down on a campaign message of service-driven leadership, asserting that government must work in the best interest of ordinary citizens. According to Antigua.news, the party has been actively promoting this vision ahead of the upcoming elections, including through a Market Street meet-and-greet held on Saturday.
In a formal statement, the UPP declared its readiness to offer what it describes as a team of "servant leaders" committed to placing citizens above power or personal status. The party says its approach to governance is rooted in listening, community engagement, and delivering tangible opportunities for residents across Antigua and Barbuda.
"This is not about titles or power, but about purpose," the party stated, emphasising that leadership must be grounded in integrity, humility, and a genuine commitment to national development.
Central to the UPP's campaign is its slogan, "Government Must Work for You" — a phrase the party says encapsulates its broader vision of accountability and people-focused governance.
The party also spotlighted Franz DeFreitas, its candidate for the St. Paul constituency, presenting him as part of a wider slate of candidates prepared to deliver "meaningful results" through responsive and inclusive leadership.
The UPP says its overall vision is anchored in strengthening national unity, advancing development, and ensuring that citizens directly benefit from government policies and actions.
