The Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs is urging eligible women in Barbuda to take advantage of free Human Papillomavirus (HPV) screening services designed to promote early detection and prevent cervical cancer.
HPV is a common virus that, if left undetected, can develop into cervical cancer. Regular screening identifies cellular changes before they become serious, enabling timely treatment and better health outcomes.
The Ministry emphasized that early detection is a critical factor in reducing cervical cancer risk and saving lives. Screenings are available to women in Barbuda through the Barbuda Health and Wellness Clinic during the week.
Women seeking additional information are encouraged to contact their nearest health facility or the Ministry of Health directly.
The initiative forms part of ongoing government efforts to strengthen women's health services and advance preventive healthcare across Antigua and Barbuda.
