Four men are in police custody after a large-scale drug eradication operation near Pares Village yielded more than 500 cannabis plants and nearly 1,000 pounds of cured cannabis, according to Antigua.news.

The operation was conducted on Thursday by a joint law enforcement team comprising officers from the Narcotics Department, K-9 Unit, Gangs and Suppression Unit, and Customs Enforcement.

Authorities targeted an unlicensed cannabis plantation in the area, where officers discovered and confiscated hundreds of actively growing cannabis plants. A substantial quantity of cured cannabis, estimated at close to 1,000 pounds, was also recovered during the operation.

All four men were taken into custody on the scene and remain under police detention as investigations continue. Police have not released the identities of those held, and no formal charges have been announced.
