The Antigua and Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA) has congratulated two local chefs following their feature on BBC MasterChef UK's Finals Week episode, according to Antigua News Room. Chef Eustace Cabral Jr. of Jumby Bay Island Resort and Chef Maurine Bowers of Moon Gate Antigua both appeared in the episode, which aired on June 3 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

The broadcast brought Antigua and Barbuda's culinary heritage and local talent to audiences across the United Kingdom and beyond.

As reported by Antigua News Room, Bowers guided MasterChef finalists through the preparation of traditional Antiguan dishes at the historic Nelson's Dockyard, while Cabral challenged contestants to recreate contemporary Caribbean-inspired cuisine at the Jumby Bay Estate House.

The ABHTA noted that both chefs have long contributed to local tourism and culinary development. Each has served as a mentor and judge for the Taste of Wadadli Junior Chef Competition and has represented Antigua and Barbuda as a member of the national culinary team.

The association also praised the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority for its role in securing the opportunity to showcase the country's cuisine, culture, and culinary talent on the internationally recognised programme.

The ABHTA described the appearance as a significant achievement for both chefs and a valuable platform for promoting Antigua and Barbuda as a premier culinary destination.
