Police are investigating the assault of an 11-year-old boy who was attacked by four young men during an attempted robbery in Golden Grove Extension on Friday evening.
According to Antigua News Room, the incident occurred at approximately 5 p.m. on June 5, when the group of young men allegedly set upon the child and attempted to steal his bicycle.
The boy resisted and refused to relinquish the bicycle. The attackers then allegedly struck him repeatedly about the body with a glass bottle.
Despite the assault, the suspects failed to take the bicycle and fled the area.
A relative subsequently reported the matter to police. Investigators are continuing their inquiries into the incident.
