The Antiguan government is set to construct 50 new homes in Bolans as part of its ongoing affordable housing programme carried out in partnership with China, according to Antigua News Room.
St. Mary's South Member of Parliament Dwayne George welcomed the initiative, describing it as a major investment that will expand housing stock in the constituency and open doors for families seeking homeownership.
"These homes represent more than just buildings — they represent security, stability, and a brighter future for many families," George said.
The development is intended to benefit low- and middle-income families, providing access to affordable housing while generating economic activity in the surrounding area. George noted that the project forms part of the government's broader efforts to improve living conditions for citizens and support community development.
He added that the initiative reflects the government's commitment to addressing housing needs across Antigua and Barbuda through targeted investments, and expressed appreciation for China's continued partnership and support.
The Antigua and Barbuda government has undertaken several housing projects in recent years with Chinese assistance, as part of wider efforts to increase access to affordable housing and raise living standards across the twin-island nation.
