Michael Freeland, President of the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA), will not resign from his post despite being elected Member of Parliament for the St George Constituency in April. The newly appointed Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transportation and Investment has chosen to remain at the helm of the sporting organisation for the remainder of his current term.

Freeland clarified, however, that he will not be seeking re-election to the ABBA presidency once his current term concludes.
