Police are investigating an alleged assault on a supermarket owner at Wilkinson's Cross in St. John's, after the businessman was reportedly struck in the face with an iron pipe during an early morning incident on Friday.
According to Antigua News Room, an unknown man entered the supermarket and began behaving aggressively toward the owner. The owner asked the man to leave the premises.
The situation escalated when the suspect allegedly attacked the owner, striking him across the jaw with an iron pipe before fleeing the area.
Officers later responded to the scene and searched the surrounding area, but were unable to locate the suspect. No arrests have been made. Investigations into the incident remain ongoing.
