The National Youth Parliament Association of Antigua and Barbuda (NYPAAB) has completed its electoral process, filling all positions on its Executive Committee and selecting Youth Members of Parliament to represent constituencies across the twin-island nation for the upcoming term.
According to Antigua News Room, the newly elected officers join previously chosen leaders — President Ezekiel Francois, Recruitment and Mobilization Officer Jordyn Roberts, Projects and Events Manager Lorianna Richards, and Financial Secretary Janiyah Winston — to form the full executive body. The remaining positions were filled when members convened and elected Rainer Santos Mercado as Vice President, Romario Hughes as General Secretary, Lutrell John as Public Relations Officer, and Esther Mckenzie as External Affairs Officer.
The Association also announced the election of Youth Members of Parliament, who will represent constituencies across Antigua and Barbuda and advance the interests of young people through parliamentary debate, advocacy, and civic engagement. The elected Youth MPs are: Johanna Jacobs for St. Mary's North, Cyniya Ireland for All Saints West, Celine Edwards for All Saints East and St. Lukes, Jawan Jackson for St. Philip's North, Chrysean Jarvis for St. Johns Rural South, Alton Alcendor for St. Johns Rural West, Daniel Taylor for St. Paul, and Leanna Browne for St. John's City South. Youth Caretakers will be appointed for the remaining constituencies at a later date.
President Ezekiel Francois welcomed the conclusion of the electoral process, stating that the newly elected team reflects the talent, diversity, and commitment of Antigua and Barbuda's youth. He expressed confidence that both the Executive Committee and Youth Parliamentarians will work collaboratively to strengthen the Association and expand opportunities for meaningful youth participation in national development.
The NYPAAB extended congratulations to all successful candidates and thanked every member who took part in the democratic process. The Association said it looks forward to a productive term focused on leadership development, civic engagement, policy discussion, and empowering the next generation of leaders.
