Prime Minister Gaston Browne has moved to quash suggestions that the government is developing an industrial park near the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, clarifying that the area involves individual private land allocations rather than a formal industrial development.
According to Antigua.news, Browne addressed the matter in Parliament on Tuesday in response to a question raised by Jamale Pringle, Member of Parliament for All Saints East and St Luke.
The Prime Minister explained that the lands in question have been granted to private investors on an individual basis and do not constitute a formally designated industrial park. He cited businessman Craig White as one of the recipients of land in the area and noted that plans are underway for a hardware store development on the site.
"It is not an industrial park per se," Browne stated.
The Prime Minister added that various private-sector projects are expected to take shape on the allocated lands within the vicinity of the stadium.
