The Antigua and Barbuda Young Entrepreneurs Trade Show (ABYETS) has hosted an intensive preparatory retreat at River Run, Barbuda, equipping the next generation of business leaders ahead of the nation's premier youth-led exhibition. According to Antigua News Room, 29 participants attended the high-impact gathering, comprising both established young entrepreneurs and new registrants.
Held under the theme "Restore, Connect, Empower," the retreat was designed to foster professional growth, sharpen business acumen, and build a collaborative network in advance of the trade show, scheduled for July 4, 2026, at the Holy Trinity School grounds in Barbuda.
The retreat's curriculum centred on translating vision into actionable outcomes. Participants engaged in a structured vision board workshop aimed at helping them clarify their long-term objectives and solidify their brand identities.
The programme also featured a dynamic "speed-dating" pitch session, which challenged entrepreneurs to refine their value propositions and deliver concise, compelling presentations to their peers. The exercise served as an essential platform for iterative feedback, ensuring participants are well-prepared to articulate their businesses effectively when they meet the public in July.
Addressing the cohort, the founder of ABYETS underscored the importance of resilience and vision in today's marketplace.
"Think big," the founder stated. "Never be afraid to develop an idea into a business. The world is waiting for the unique solutions that only you can provide, and the confidence you build here today is the foundation of your success tomorrow."
The retreat concluded with participants leaving River Run equipped with practical tools, renewed confidence, and professional connections to carry forward into the trade show.
Organisers are inviting the public to support these young innovators at the Antigua and Barbuda Young Entrepreneurs Trade Show on July 4, 2026, where participants will showcase their products and services to the wider community.
ABYETS is the youth arm of Community Charitable Ministry, established in 2008. The initiative is committed to fostering youth empowerment through entrepreneurship by providing mentorship, resources, and networking opportunities for young innovators across the twin-island nation.
